Anti-Bullying Advocacy: National Institute for Bullying and Harassment

The National Institute for Bullying and Harassment of Children in Public Schools

Advocacy for child safety. Holding ourselves accountable in bullying prevention. Empowering individuals and communities to take agency.

Our Key Deliverables

1. Evidence-Based Bullying Prevention Frameworks

We provide parents with comprehensive, age-appropriate tools designed to foster child safety and advocate for children who experience harassment and bullying in public schools. These frameworks include strategic "zero-tolerance" policies focused on building a proactive community and school climate where peer support is the norm and harassment is socially discouraged.

2. Educator & Administrator Training Suites

Our institute delivers specialized professional development workshops that equip school staff with effective tools for bullying prevention. This includes training on identifying "invisible" bullying (such as cyberbullying and social isolation), understanding legal compliance regarding harassment laws, and techniques that heal families and communities after an incident occurs.

3. National Data & Trend Reporting

We maintain an extensive longitudinal database that tracks the evolution of student conduct across public school demographics. By publishing annual "State of the Schools" reports, we provide stakeholders with the empirical evidence needed for educational advocacy, ensuring the funding, legislation updates, and adaptations that address emerging threats of bullying and harassment of children.

Transparency Audits: Independent evaluations of school incident reporting aimed at bridging the gap between 'official' safety statistics and the real experiences of students, all while emphasizing bullying prevention and child safety. The Accountability Index: A national database that monitors school performance in relation to bullying response, ensuring that institutions that fail to uphold child safety standards are publicly identified and held accountable, supporting educational advocacy.

A Statement from our Founder, Stephen Gilchrist

For too long, our educational institutions have prioritized their reputation over the safety of the children in their care. I have witnessed the devastating reality of a system that claims 'zero tolerance' while leaving a child vulnerable to harm.

At the National Institute for Bullying and Harassment, we are committed to ending the era of empty promises and district-level excuses regarding bullying prevention. We aren’t here to provide more slogans; we are here to empower parents. Our goal is to ensure that no parent is ever forced to choose between their child’s academic success and their physical or emotional safety. Through educational advocacy, we are building a future where schools are held to a standard of absolute accountability—because our children deserve nothing less.
